Saturday evening with Voce Angelica
An amazing fun night with the Voce Angelica at their fund raising program.
We really enjoyed the music, the choreographs, and especially the angelic voices of our children.
It was a surprise also when Mape and Mongo the two MC comedians took my wife, then brought her to the  floor as part of funny fund raising program.
They sang several songs from different countries and they closed the program with tor-tor song and dance from Indonesia. This was actually the moment of truth for the fund raising, when the audience also got involve, dancing while slipping money to the choir members' fingers.

Friend in need is friend indeed
I am no stranger, because I have many nice friends who always care.
Even in foreign land there are always people who offer helping hand and make me feel at home.
Kigali is very beautiful, clean, safe and most of all I have people whom I know they care.
It would not be fair for me to ask for more.

Sabbath outing at Mlango waterfalls

"Sabbath is a happy day, happy day all the way...  etc. etc...   ... ."
...
Yes, It is not only a happy day but a creation day, recreation day... restoration day.
A day to restore our relationship with our God, our fellow human beings as well as our relationship with the environment.
We are very lucky to have these all complete when we went for a Bizzman Sabbath program at Mlango waterfalls.
...
"I love every Sabbath"

Climbing the rock at Iten
Iten is the Keiyo district Kenya. The name Iten actually came from the word Hill ten, which then pronounced by the local people as Iten, a place with many rock hills.
We took time to enjoy the Sabbath afternoon climbing those rock hills after the outreach program at the Tambach Boys'High School and viewing the spectacular  beauty of the Rift valley from the top of the hill ten.
It was amazing to look up to the formation of the cliffs, rocks with lush green of forest from the Tambach village, then an astounding view from the spread of  yellowish green corn field farm  and villages down at foot of hills along the valley from the top of the hills.

Misoy - my friend the champion
I've seen Misoy running several times and he was fast. During our Sunday hiking we met a Kenyan world marathon champion. He was driving a very nice brand new car. He stopped for a while and greeted us. Misoy introduced me to him, after that Misoy talked about his dream of being a world champion.
He told me that he also would buy a brand new car and will let me use it whenever I want it.
For me this is not a joke.
Look at the champion who was gloriously admired in Boston, New York and Paris ... that day he looked so simple and even stopped to greet us in the middle of Birei flooded muddy road.
He might look like Misoy several years ago, but now he is a world champion.

Even in the Africa wilderness I've learned something from these humble Kenyan friends- "One, be brave enough to dream. Two, be generous even in your dream."

"Be brave enough to dream... a big dream... the one that looks impossible"
Misoy my friend you already a champion for me.
...
"Who dare not to dream? "

Misoy....he runs and drinks like a cheetah
We share my wife home made cake with Misoy's family
A tree house- one day this might be the garage for a champion car

Sabbath outing with Business Policy class
We spent an enjoyable Sabbath worship with our students in nature. It was just a simple but meaningful life experience to have students shared their testimonies and spiritual journey. Unlike in the church, here our students were not reluctant to share some of their precious valuable life experiences with us.  Daniel, Richard, Kapunga, Francis, Patricia, Jilvian and even Ali took part in sharing their faith and spiritual experiences. Most of them showed great appreciation to our SDA education, though they also emphasized their concern on how we - the teachers, staff as well as the administrators- 'walk the talk' in our daily life.
I am very surprised to find out that Patricia, Jilvian and Francis had been in the dorm since the age of ten.
We finished our divine worship at about 13:00, then enjoyed great lunch. After taking  pictures, we joined the Outreach group for the afternoon program. We left Tindinyo campsite at about 16:00.
Rachel, Millicent,  Sylvia, Maureen, Patricia, Jilvian,  we missed Lilian who was not feeling well

We had our Divine services under the mango tree sitting on stones
Francis said he's been in the dorm since the age of ten

African dancers
Students who took "Music appreciation class" are required by the teacher to perform on African  music and dancing. That Sunday June 19, 2011 we also celebrated the birth of Johan Cristoff Yonathan - the son of Alwyn and Kathleen Yonathan. My wife must take care of Michaella the eldest Yonathan's daughter, because Alwyn stayed at the hospital with Kathleen and the baby. I went alone to students dancing performance and took the following pictures.

Nyama choma
Nyama choma means roasted meat. We attended thanks giving party in Dr. Fred Amimo house, the new UEAB Deputy Vice Chancellor. It was such a nice party with all our African brothers and sisters. Besides the good lunch we also celebrated the World Environmental Day by watching the professors planted trees. According to Pastor Wamalika, African will not considered the gathering as a party unless nyama choma is served. Unfortunately we only enjoy taking pictures with nyama choma.

Enjoy Manadonese food with Indonesian friends in Nairobi
We were assigned to teach in Nairobi. I had 2 classes for the MBA program and my wife taught the students for office typing class. It was such wonderful time to be out of campus sometimes. We stayed in the embassy quest house and from the morning till evening we taught our classes for the whole week days, but on Sunday my wife only had half day class. In afternoon our Indonesian friends asked her to cooked Manadonese foods. I joined the group after my evening class finished and enjoyed such a good times with our Indonesian friends.

 Cleaning Fountain
Fountain is one of the university landmark. Located at the center where all of us will pass on the way to class, church, Ad building, store, science building, humanies building and hospital. The following photos are from Management students activities where my wife Linda was the supervisor.

 Crazy Week
Baraton gave us so many surprises. The social life with our students is so full with interesting activities.
I was very shocked to find my lady student attended my class dressed as clown, "this is crazy week.... sir." they informed me, the week they were allowed to dress like crazy according to the day's theme such as..color crash for Monday, Proud traditional -Tuesday, African travelers- Wednesday...etc. The following photos are from Crazy week.
